Pediatric Therapy Backed with Heart and Science
Franchesca Cox, Owner & Occupational Therapist
Franchesca is an occupational therapist living in Houston with her husband and children. When she learned about intensive therapy she found every resource imaginable and began getting her own training in the intensive model through Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) and TheraSuit. She loves to help kiddos that have been “stuck” developmentally in traditional therapy for long periods of time with little to no results. It is her privilege to work with families and empowering them to help their child in new ways to achieve the unthinkable. The best part of her job is watching each child gain confidence in themselves as new neural pathways form in their brain, and the impossible becomes possible.
On a personal note, she is a three time NICU mom herself and her experience as a medical mother lends itself to her practice and interacting with families with empathy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for her family, making sourdough bread, listening to audiobooks, playing the piano and perusing old bookstores.
She has worked in a variety of settings including: inpatient pediatric acute at a large children’s hospital, outpatient pediatric clinic, home health, and telehealth.
Special Training and Occupational Therapy Focus
Because her kiddos’ needs are always changing, she finds it imperative to continue learning. She loves to expand her “OT toolbox” through continuing education. This allows her to keep her kiddos challenged, engaged, and making big gains.
Franchesca received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She is also a registered yoga instructor (RYT200).
