Intensive therapy can be customized to suit the needs of your child. New motor patterns such as rolling, sitting, crawling and walking takes thousands of repetitions for a young child to master, and they thrive and enjoy this process of learning and exploring. If your little one is unable to functionally move due to their condition intensive therapy can help provide the conditions necessary for them to find this joy through independent movement.
Therapy is goal directed and we utilize a variety of Dynamic Movement Intervention, Whole Body Vibration, Anat Baniel method, TheraSuit, Universal Exercise Unit (UEU), Spider Cage and reflex integration into therapy blocks to meet each child’s unique needs.
Many children gain more progress towards their goals in 2 weeks of intensive therapy than they do in a whole 12 months of ongoing traditional therapy (source). This means they often advance to the next developmental skill or higher in a few weeks of intensive therapy.
Which is the Intensive Therapy Model for Your Family?
Intensive Therapy
- You are able/ willing to dedicate 1-3 weeks to the therapy program and put other obligations on hold during the program such as regular therapy appointments, work, etc.
- Your child is on the cusp of meeting the next milestone, and you want to see it happen by a certain timeline
- You are willing to push your little one outside of the traditional therapy mold for the greater good of higher independence and mobility
Weekly Therapy Sessions
- Putting things on hold for 1-3 weeks is not possible
- You don’t want your child missing their regular therapists for an intensive program
- Your child has completed an intensive program recently and you would like to continue DMI therapy on a weekly basis
- Seeing your child fussy in therapy is difficult
